Q: 2009 BMW X5 3.0i or Mercedes Benz ML350 4-Matic? Hi, I know I should ask this in the cars section but I've only gotten 2 answers in the last hour and I know I'll get more here. I'll give 10 points to the best answer and it's pretty easy. My family is looking for a replacement of our 2006 Cadillac SRX. We have narrowed it down to the 2009 BMW X5 3.0i and the 2009 Mercedes Benz ML 350 4 Matic. After looking at both vehicles extensively, we like the X5 more. It looks better inside and out and is more exciting than the Mercedes. The only problems are that: No.1: Both of the cars are similarly equipped but the BMW is being given at $61,000 (no negotiating) while the Mercedes is being given at $48,000 (the dealer is ready to negotiate). No.2: We had just bought a BMW 3-Series a little less than a year ago. So it might be boring having two BMWs because the X5 just feels like a bigger version of our 3-series (although it is basen on the 5-series). So my question to you is: Is it still worth getting the BMW? We like it better, but we are just not sure if it is worth it because it is a lot more expensive than the Benz and because we already have a BMW. Is the ML350 a good vehicle? Do you think it's better than the BMW? What is it's advantages? Disadvantages? What are the advantages of the X5? Disadvantages? Is it also a good vehicle? A: The ML350 is a good vehicle, however, I prefer the BMW X5 as well. For an SUV you are looking for something more sporty. BMW qualifies that much better than the Mercedes. Looking at the Mercedes I believe the ML has more class, but the BMW X5 is a better car in general. Both cars drive very smoothly so it is hard to say which car performs better. I would compare the ML350 more to the BMW X3 and the ML550 to the BMW X5. The extra price is worth it.
Q: BMW X5 xDrive 30i vs Mercedes-Benz Ml 350 vs Mercedes Benz GLK 2009? Which would you perfer to the speed, style, quality, performance and the looks of the car? A: bmw x5 idrive
Q: BMW X5 or Mercedes Ml 350? (2009)? Interior Exterior Quality Speed Handling And Others A: Interior- BMW, better design, greater comfort, better controls (provided you aren't one of those people that hate iDrive) and high quality of materials Exterior- I would say it's pretty equal. Both the BMW and the ML 350 look pretty sick Quality- Again equal. Both are made very well Speed- The ML 350 is a lot sportier and has more of an aggressive engine. It has a 3.5 L V6 standard over the X5's 3.0 L V6 standard but the X5 also comes in the 4.4 L V8 (I think it's a V8, or maybe a turbo 6 I don't remember exactly) but the ML 550 comes with a 5.5 L ///AMG engineered V8 and then of course you have the ML63 ///AMG which has a 6.3 L ///AMG powered V8 that puts up over 480 HP, so it really does depend on what engine trim you get it in, but with both standard engines the ML 350 wins. Handling- X5 only because BMW's handling in all of it's cars is notoriously better than Mercedes-Benz's handling in all of it's cars, the X5 takes curves like it's on rails and the ML 350 can get a little shaky at times. Overall: It depends what you need. The X5 has BMW's xDrive (4WD) standard and the ML 350 only has the 4MATIC (4WD) as an option. Also The X5 seats 7 very comfortably and the ML 350 seats 5. The X5 also tows like a dream and the ML 350 comparatively sucks at towing. I suggest heading over to your nearest BMW dealer and Mercedes dealer and seeing for yourself which one you like better. Oh and in turns of price, the Merc MSRP's at around $50,000 while the X5 MSRP's for around $60,000. I hope I helped!
Q: I just bought a bought a BMW X5 2004 with 40000 miles for 30 grand, CPO until Oct. 2009. is it a good buy? The warranty will expire on Oct. 2009. I am afraid to keep after the warranty exprie. Is it advisable to trade it just before the warranty expire? Would I have a positive equity of the vehicle or at least even? Thanks for any advise. A: It is wise and good buy. enjoy your drive.
Q: Please help me!?? BMW, X5 or 750Li??? which one I buy? Next week I'm going to buy one of this cars, 2009 model, I love both and really can't choose one! Can u give me your ideas? please! Thanks guys. ok I will go for 750. It's more classy. Merc s-class as u said is nice too and was my another confusion:-) but for some reason I like BMW more. I am 36 and somehow feel more young in BM! I think Merc makes me look old! hehe stupid idea of mine? A: wow you obviously have a couple bucks on you... they are two completely different cars. bottom line: 7 series is much more expensive, and for a reason: it is nicer, rides better, and has more features and obviously its a sedan. the x5 is also a very nice SUV.if you can afford to get a 7 and want a cutting edge luxury car you should get that. you are one lucky girl to be getting either one.

Q: I'm about to lease a 2008 X5 3.0 BMW. Tell me if this is a good deal:? I'm putting $4,000 down and will be paying $650/month. the msrp of the car is $51,000. It's the 3.0 with the premium package only. Not to many bells and whistles. I just want to know if I can talk them down any lower. They say that's as low as they'll go but I know car salesmen love saying that. Any advice? A: BMW? Friend of mine. It looks like you have a decent deal (for a BMW.) Best of luck.
Q: BMW X5 vs Mercedes-Benz Ml 350 (2008)? Tell me about the performance, style, interior, exterior, speed and your opinion about which car you would prefer and why. A: It all depends. If you want versatility and performance, with the emphasis being performance the best choice hands down is BMW, if you want a truck like vehicle, not nearly as smooth on the road, but a better interior and noisier, the exterior may be a bit more modern, but no where close on the handling. This is the ladies car - ML350. I am on my second X5 love the vehicle. I tested the Mercedes first, I worked at their dealership. Mercedes is still a good car. But I would not buy any other vehicle with the exception of the Cayenne - and only their turbo / turbo S - for a slightly different reason though. So to answer your question BMW X5 unequivocally!
Q: Choice BMW X5 or X6 ? Hi everyone ! can you think me should buy BMW x5 or X6 , i had read review where http://auto.hicar.us/2008/11/2008-bmw-x6-review.html please give my a best choice. Thank so much A: It's a tough choice. Both cars are really great, but I just replaced my older X5 with a Porsche Cayenne S instead of the X6 (which was my initial choice) because it just didn't fit my needs, but it's still a great car. If money is of no object and you can get either car, I would choose the X6 because it's sportier and handles and performs like a sports car, and it's just a joy to drive, and looks pretty cool. I would choose the X5 if you want a little bit more room, better off road capabilities and better in snow, so it really depends on your needs. In my opinion there's no "better than" here, because they're both equally great cars, it just depends on what you want and need in the car. But if all those factors really don't mean much and you can compromise, I would say get the X6
Q: brand new BMW how low can I go? if I buy a brand new 2008 BMW X5 CASH!! at the dealership, how low can I go? I can negotiate the price right? A: You can go as low as you like. It's all a matter of what they will accept. The problem is that the 2008 models are just out and in high demand. You are more likely to get a great deal on an '07 since they want rid of last years model. I suspect if you buy one they have in stock and pay cash, you will get it for a few thousand over invoice. Once you have found a car you like. Write down all the specs on the car. Then get on KBB.com or Edmunds.com and see what the proper invoice price is. Then you will have a starting point for your negotiation. Start at invoice and work your way up from there, telling them to remove any 'Dealer Prep' or other arrogant dealer mark ups.
Q: Engine oil instead of power steering fluid for BMW.? I have this "friend" who has a 2008 BMW X5..... what would happen if this "friend" maybe accidently put a little engine oil where the power steering fluid goes? Oh, and the "friend" realizes that they are a complete idiot for doing this. The oil added was 5W-30 high performance full synthetic, if that makes a difference. A: Engine oil is an oil, power steering fluid is hydraulic. Probably have to drain it and refill it.
Q: BMW X5 COMPUTER AND SENSOR PROBLEMS? HI I JUST BOUGHT A 2008 X5 AND MY CAR's computer KEEPS ON SHOWING ERROR MESSAGES SUCH FLAT TIRE INDICATORS NOT WORKING, back up sensors not working, tire pressure sensor not working, or safety system not working and almost all indicator (airbag, seatbelt) on my dashboard are on; i would appreciate any advice. P.S: The car is working fine A: Take it straight back to where you bought it, sounds like it's got serious issues
Q: Are all BMW's plagued with electronic problems? Does BMW have as many electrical problems as Mercedes? I purchased a 2008 BMW X5 4.8i less than a month ago and am experiencing malfunctions galore with only 1200 miles on the odometer. For example the memory seats decided to push me into the steering wheel while I was driving. Also the navigation froze several times and somehow disabled the climate control. The airbag and seatbelt lights come on while someone is in the seat which indicates the airbags will not deploy in an accident. The central computer has already been replaced by the dealer as well as the transmission due to electrical problems. A colleague of mine leased a 335i a couple months ago and has similar problems and while in the dealership I overheard a conversation from very unsatisfied customers about electrical problems with their 7 series. How long do I have to return my vehicle for a full refund if these problems are not resolved or others develop? I know Mercedes and Audi's are notorious for electrical problems but BMW as well? A: Unfortunately, yes to both questions. As BMW's become ever more complicated, the electrical problems have been increasing exponentially and the internet is full of horror tales about BMW's, Audi's and Mercedes Benz's. I personally know about a similar situation of a 2007 X3 with a mountain of electrical problems and the exact same problem with the passenger airbag light, which is directly related to a switch in the seat. BMW's are not the simple driving machines they once were. They drive great and that's what gets people to buy them but beyond that they are a nightmare to own. My advice, stay clear of ALL German products containing electrical components, ranging from phones to computers to cars.
Q: Advantages of Rolling from a BMW lease into a BMW lease??? My lease ends in 3 months...what is the advantage of leasing another BMW? I was told by getting into a 2008 X5...BMW Financial will knock 100 basis points off the money factor...what the heck are basis points and what $$ savings would that equate to on a $50K car? I live in Northern California..just in case that makes a difference. A: If you lease another BMW through BMW FS: BMW FS will refund the $350 lease disposition fee. BMW FS will also waive the security deposit on your next BMW. In addition to these two discounts there are Owner Loyalty Programs (OLP) that come and go. In general the OLP discounts are not advertised. They vary by model and are subject to change every month. You have to ask, or do an internet search. The Money Factor(MF) is the interest on a lease expressed as a fraction. To convert MF to approximate APR multiply by 2400. For example if the money factor is .002150, the APR is .002150*2400 or 5.16% Basis Points are the MF numbers times 100,000. For example a MF discount of 65 basis points would be a MF discount of .00065. 100 basis points is a huge discount. You haven't posted nearly enough information for me to tell you how much money per month that is going to save you. It should be at least $50 a month off. However, it is important not to shop by payments, but rather the entire deal. If you shop only by payments you are going to be taken advantage of. Leases in general and BMW FS leases in particular are complex. You should understand them fully and know how to calculate your payments before signing. I've posted a good link in the source list. Check it out.
Q: Advantage of rolling from a BMW lease to a BMW lease????? My lease ends in 3 months...what is the advantage of leasing another BMW? I was told by getting into a 2008 X5...BMW Financial will knock 100 basis points off the money factor...what the heck are basis points and what $$ savings would that equate to on a $50K car? I live in Northern California..just in case that makes a difference. 7 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer. A: When you lease a car, you are making payments on the amount that a car depreciates during the time of the lease. The points are the fees that the dealer writes into the lease to cover acquisition fees, loan fees, etc. These are not always clear in the terms of the lease. What it would save you is the total capitalized cost of the car that you are leasing so if a $50,000 car can be negotiated down to a total cost of $47,500 (much like negotiating the total cost of buying a new car) then your monthly lease payment will be on the amount that the car depreciates over the next 2 years or whatever length of lease you choose. So if the BMW is worth $45000 in 2 years, your monthly payments would be (in theory) $2500 divided by 24 months= $104 per month. (all of these numbers are made up!) By telling you that they will knock 10 points off they are automatically telling you that they are willing to negotiate a good price for you because you are staying with them- they are implying that at another brand they will be less likely to give you as good of a discount because you will be a new customer. It is a good theory and probably is true to a certain extent. Taking out a lease is a bit of a gamble because you have to decide which make and model will depreciate the least. German cars typically hold their value well as do Japanese cars so sticking with BMW is probably your best bet. Good luck!
Q: Adding a Trailer-hitch and new car warranty.? Hello experts. I have a new 2008 BMW X5 that I'm looking to add a trailer-hitch to. If I do so thru a third party shop, and not via the BMW dealership, will that action potentially void the vehicle's warranty? A: I am pretty certain that any work that you have done on your car by anyone other than a licensed BMW dealership will invalidate the warranty, and if it doesn't do that then any damage to the car as a result of the modification will most certainly not be covered by it.
Q: Price negotiations on a new "luxury" car? I'm looking to buy a brand new 2008 BMW X5 4.8i. I'm buying directly from a BMW dealership, and the car will probably have to be made/ordered from the factory. The MSRP will be around $65k once it's all said and done. So, should I be able to negotiate a lower price on a brand new 'built' car like this? A: Genreally if it is coming from the factory......NO. They generally just add a small percentage to the invoice amount they pay. The best tactic is to find something on a lot with more features than you want......then complain how you love the car except you aren't willing to pay "X" dollars for featrure "Y"...... then they will likely deduct the cost of feature "X" from total cost and then some. So you are getting a solid deal and usually some free freatures.

Q: Is a white BMW x5 2007 considered a girls car? I am about to turn 16. And i am inheriting one of my family members cars. this one imparticular is my step moms who is ready to get new car. I am just asking simply if you would call it a girls car. Thanks. A: mmmmmmi want to say No, but i can see what you are saying. Yes, it a little on the girly side maybe because of the color and and car. If it was black, it wouldnt be so girly, or if it was the 6 series it wouldnt be so girly. Just that car and color together may seem a bit girly, but bro you can rock that car. I actually got my sisters silver X5 for my first car when i turned 16. :-/ i crashed it and got a new car (thnk gd, my sister killed the car and ruined it) and it really wasnt that bad.
Q: which cell phone from verizon could be pair with the new x5 bmw 2007 model? A: wish i knew
Q: Which is better? Lexus RX550 or BMW X5? I am currently deciding whether to get a 2007 BMW X5 or a 2007 Lexus RX550. I'm not sure which worth the money? Could anyone provide some diffrences and which one I should get? A: BMW X5 you can't beat German engineering
Q: The BMW X5? I am thinking about getting the new 2007 bmw x5 when it comes out this fall because of the third row because i have a family of 5. I wanted to know does anybody have inside information about the third row seating adults and not just a child size seat. A: Might be cramped if you compare the X5 to a Lexus RX series or similiar vehicles.
Q: BMW X5 price? How much does a 2007 BMW X5 cost in the States ?? A: Nice choice of car. If you have a look on the BMW web site it will tell you more information. They start from $45,900 for the x5 si 3.0 version. Hope that helps.
Q: Does anyone have experience with the BMW's 20 way power seats in the new 7 series, 5 series, and/or X5? I've tried the seats in a BMW 760iL and they give so much support to the lower back, it's soooooooooooooooooo comfortable. I'd like those seats availible in a new BMW X5. Are the 20 way seats the same as the ones in the 7 series? Anyone share th same experience with th BMW 20 way power seats? Here's a picture of them in the new X5: http://www.seriouswheels.com/2007/2007-BMW-X5-Interior-Front-Seats-1280x960.htm A: They are very similar seats. If you want the exact seats, bmw can make it happen if you have the money. Hope that helps!
Q: Does anyone have any advice on the bmw x5 4.6 2003? Would I go wrong by purchasing it over 2007 toy 4runner? living in colorado. i'm paying 24k cash for it and it has 65k miles with the purchase of an ext warranty. and the 4runner for 22k with 23k miles on it. A: Do you want the BMW only because you can get into a BMW for the price of a Toyota? If so you will regret it. The only thing I can think of that the X5 would have and the Toyota doesn't is Hill Descent Control and that is some gimmick the engineers came up with that noone will ever use. Don't get me wrong the BMW is nice, that 4.6 was top of the line when it came out, so it is a fast well capable SUV, or SAV as BMW calls it. But everything will be more expensive on that especially since that is their sport model. And I think that model comes with the staggered 20 inch wheels. So you can't rotate the tires front to back. Front tires will run in the 300s and rears will be close to 400 dollars each. Other maintainence cost will be average especially if you do the simple things like oil and brakes yourself. The 4.6 will ask for a good amount of oil though. The Toyota on the otherhand will get amazing gas mileage compared to the BMW and it is still a decently quick and agile SUV. Those things will last forever! They are easy to work on and will hold their resale. I am not trying to turn you off on the BMW it is actually all I will drive. I have a 5 and a 3 but I do have a Ford F150 since BMW doesn't make a truck. I will admit they are a little more quirky than the Toyota and if you take it to the dealer to get oil changes or anything at all, it will start to cost a bit of money. So for basic transportation go 4 Runner but for I am going out to the club and will pay someone 200 dollars to change the oil while I eat a fois gras panini go BMW.
Q: What's more hot ? I have a choice between a black Dodge Charger 2007 and a black BMW X5 2001 , what shall I go for? A: Something you may want to consider: Cost of ownership. An X5 will need brake pads and rotors every 25-30 thousand miles @ aprox $800 per axle. Oil change in X5 is synthetic only $80. Just for example. Ebign an 01 you will need to have routien matanince done. the services every 30, 000 miles are around $1000. CV joints will be going out around 90,000 miles $600 per axle (all weel drive) The two are vastly different cars. Is the x5 a 4.4, 3.0 or a 4.6 What about the charger V6 or V8. The charger in build quality and appointment will be far less then the BMW, Are you looking for that or just a nice basic ride. Is your budget tight or do you have money for repairs? I think since you are considering an 07 vs an 01 you may be bet served going with the Charger. I am a big BMW fan, but with a more expensive car the repair cost increase too. especially on high mileage vehicles.
Q: BMW X5 or JEEP SRT8 which is a better buy? 1.) 2007 Jeep SRT8 6.1-Liter Hemi V8 420HP 2.) 2006 BMW X5 3.0-liter I-6 225HP 3.) 2006 BMW X5 4.4-liter V-8 315HP A 2008 X5 is an option but only a 30% chance. So which SUV would be best, he'll be happy with whatever A: Here's the pros and cons. Of the 3 cars listed, only the jeep is a "current" designed model. But... we're talking about a waaaaaaaaay expensive jeep. JEEP. I own a jeep, love it, but the SRT8 seems like a real waste of $. But..... jeeps have an UNLIMITED 3 year warranty and a 7-8 year powertrain warranty. BMWs, unless certified pre owned, do not. The thing is, the 2001 X5 looks EXACTLY the same as the 2006. Why not a 01? You could even get it certified. BMW changed the design in 08. The ones you mentioned already look dated.
Q: should i buy the range rover sport tdv6 or bmw x5 3.0d? both would be auto. the x5 would be between 2005 and 2007 as thats when the shape i want came out. and the range rover sport doesn't matter as i dont find any differences in the shape itself. if you can give me a brief description that would up your chance of getting best answer/10 pointz sarah why have you wrote random stuff??? thats just nonsence A: Range Rover Sport VS BMW X5 Let me give you a quick overview of the cars, and you will then see why the X5 is the better choice. ~RANGE ROVER SPORT: -The engine is stupidly noisy, and alot of unecessary wheel spin. -Loud, roaring engine ( not going to get you anywhere fast if you step on the gas hard) -the dashboard, cheap woodtrims falls apart, or falls off after 2 years. -It consumes gas thirstily, almost like a Hummer H2. -The driver's position is snug and comfortable. -Has the all terrain response system, ( you can select modes from gravel, snow/ice...etc) ---The ranger rover sport is basically a X5 wannabe. They used a sportier body kit, and remodeled the regular range rover, and produced the Sport version. Many consider it a great disappointment. BMW X5: -It has class,( meaning...a premium brand, sense of prestigious feeling) -the car handles very well, even around corners. -the engine is very very powerful, more horsepower than you will ever need. -Premium interior and exterior quality. -Highest resale value, higher than Mercedes, or Audi. -Maintainance may be costly. ---the X5 is often criticized for the hard suspension. But given the fact that it's a very powerful, and sporty SUV, the suspension must be stiffened up to balance out the cornering abilities. VERDICT: ---If you want a car with great value, that doesn't disappoint you, the X5 is you ultimate choice. If you want something that is savage in power, the Rangie Sport would be the choice (tons of drawbacks). If I were you, I would choose the X5, although the maintainace fees may be 10% higher than most SUVs, but it's worth every penny. ~hope this helps ^^
Q: Mercedes-Benz or BMW? which do you think would be better to get the Mercedes ML or the BMW X5? both 2007, btw the bmw x5 for 2007 has a beatiful new design which looks much hotter than the current x5 especially the back. i also love the way the ML looks in the front but the back is butt ugly. anyways which do you say is BETTER when it comes to specifications, features, safety, reliability and interior and exterior design. DON'T GIVE ME A LINK TO ANYTHING BECAUSE I WANT YOUR OPINIONS WHICH WOULD YOU SAY IS BETTER based on those qualities. btw also don't tell me it is better to get another car im only asking about THESE two. don't give me any other talks about other cars. A: I've always driven a Mercedes they just seem more luxurious, Beamers everyone has, from kids to wannabe kids again. I'd go with the Mercedes.
Q: who agrees with me that BMW 2007+ models totally sucks ? aint 5 series the old shape is totlly better than the newer one and x5 and others .......... A: you clearly know nothing about bmw.i work for a bmw dealer and they are all damn good cars.the new 1 series is awesome.you must be a jealous mercedes owner talk about fugly cars.
Q: 2002 Range Rover or BMW x5? Which looks better? Also does the 2002 Range Rover basicaly look like the 2007/2008 body style wise? A: What do you want it for? Generally, they are not directly comparable.. If you want off road ability, the the Rangie is the way to go. It also is bigger inside. As for looks, I would go with the RR, but that is my opinion.
Q: How many cars have you owned in your life..? weve had 7 our latest is a BMW X 5 http://techepics.com/files/1-2007-bmw-x5.jpg A: 1948 Ford Anglia, Triumph Herald (2 of them), Vauxhall Viva, Ford Anglia (3 of them), Ford Popular, Ford Cortina, Ford Escort (2 of them), Ford Orion (2 of them) Rover 214, Rover 216 (2 of them), Rover 600, VW Passat, Ford Focus (still got the Focus),
Q: Which SUV is the best? 2007 BMW X5 or Range Rover (latest one out b/c i'm not sure of the year) A: I think that the 2007 BMW X5 is better than the Land Rover Range Rover

Q: can i put in dash navigation in bmw x5 2006? A: The answer is yes, but it's not cheap. bimmernav.com offers a retrofit kit for around $2,750, but you'll have to install it yourself, or pay someone to do it: http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catalog/bmw-complete-x5-navigation-retrofit-kit-item-171.html I bought a Bluetooth kit from them for a BMW I owned and it installed and worked exactly as they said it would, as if the system had been installed at the factory. You might also find something similar at your dealer, or be able to pull all the parts from a wrecked vehicle, but for that sort of money you can buy a lot of Tom-Toms! Another thought would be to see if you could find a similar X5 to yours for sale, and trade. Probably similar costs, everything else being equal.
Q: Infinti FX35 2006 or BMW x5 3.0i 2006? What car is better in your opinion and why? Both are with maximum options. if anyone know the Topgear review link for BMW x5 versus FX35. please let me know A: The infinity wins hands down, they were both tested on top gear and the infiniti won. But if i were you i would would get an 08 or 07 350 z because their prices are gonna have dropped tremendously since the new 370 z just arrived. And the good thing is that if your get an 07 or 08 they have 305 stock horse power. The new 370 z has 332. So its your choice but whatever you choose infinity is just a higher brand of nissan but essentially its the same care just cost more. Trust me this is coming from first hand experience, my uncle owns a nissan dealership in Dallas i am quite the nissan infinity fan. Good luck
Q: I have a bmw x5 there is a problem in the driveshaft & u joint do this cause the gearbox not to shift proberly? it is a 2006 4.8 model... there is a problem in the driveshaft joints.. and the gear box is not shifting proberly.. sometimes it holds the first gear too much... sometimes it shifts very early... when accelerating I hear a crack underneath my legs.. A: who told you that you have a u-joint/driveshaft problem?? shifting has nothing to do with the driveshaft. hearing a noise underyour legs while the vehicle is shifting could be the front driveshaft. if I were you take it to any bmw dealer and have them take a look. you can deny the work after they diagnose it.
Q: Is Infiniti FX35 2006 a reliable car? I am plannign to get used Infiniti FX35 2006 with all the options it possible can have. What problems Infiniti have that year? Right now I have BMW x5 2002 3.0i with 75k on it,got it used with 60k and spent already about 7,000$ for repairs and maintenance. Don't want to have same story with infiniti. Any ideas or thoughs would be great. Also I didn't test drover FX yet,but want to know is it much different from BMW x5 drivign experience? A: i had an infinity j30 for over 10 years and i LOVED it! it never had any problems. infinity makes really good cars, BMW is known for putting out crappy cars - all you pay for is the name. every1 i've known with a BMW has had problems with them. i would suggest u get the infiniti.
Q: Advice on Certified pre owned luxury SUV's with third row seat? Want a luxury SUV with a third row seat. The third row can be small as I'm probably only carrying kids under the age of 8-10 years old intermittently. don't want to buy new, but thinking of a certified pre owned one. Any advice? I've done a little bit of research online and have liked the BMW X5 and Audi Q7. Do the 2006 or 2007 models all have third row options? Any advice? A: As far as i know, all of the Audi Q7 models (doesnt matter which year) have 3rd rows. Only the 2007 X5s have a 3rd row. I've heard good things about the Q7, so i would recommend that. It is a pretty safe car. I would also recommend checking out the Acura MDX and the Benz GL450. I've been in the previous generation model (its a 2006 model) and its pretty nice. I havent been in the Benz, but many car magazine editors seem to like it and Motor Trend even gave it its 2007 SUV of the Year award. X5 isnt that appealing to me and since your going to use the 3rd row, go with the Audi. I read on Edmunds.com that they said the 3rd row on the X5 (2007 model) is "impractical"

The BMW is my moms and she said i can have it. but i dont know if i should because its so big and its bad on gas. the only problem with the audi is that i would have to buy, my mom would help but i would still have to pay some for it. ugh. what would you choose. which one is faster? because i dont want my mom to waste money by buying herself a new car again after this ones already payed off A: The Audi. Its a much better! And the X5 will cause you so many much trouble your better off with the Audi. I would pick it and I am a car nut!

Q: I have a 2005 bmw X5 and no manual, what is the procedure to program your garage door opener to the buttons? A: Martin is correct, you wouldn't have found this procedure in the manual anyway. It came with the UGDO (Universal Garage Door Opener) itself when it was purchased and installed. But the exact same thing is at the website. Basically you hold the button for several seconds until it flashes, then hold your remote up to it and press its button. However, if you have a rolling code opener, it is a little different. Also, if the button you want to use already has a code in it, you will have to delete it. To do this, you have to delete all the old codes. That is in the procedure also. Here is a simple run down which would probably work for you, but double check. 1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash after 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.) 2. Hold both the handheld transmitter button and the HomeLink button you would like to program until the HomeLink flashes slowly then rapidly (then release both buttons) 3. Press and hold the HomeLink button you just programmed. If the garage door opens/closes then programming is complete. If it does not then proceed to step 4. 4. Get a ladder and press and release the “learn” button on the back of your garage door motor head 5. Within 30 seconds get back into your vehicle and press and release the HomeLink button you just programmed up to 3 times or until your garage door activates. Programming is complete.
Q: Purchasing a 2005 BMW X5 3.0. Price: 22,500 Mileage: 23,500, CARFAX reports rear accident, repaint? Looks and drives great, not sure what to do.... I think $ 22,500 is a good deal but the accident worries me. thoughts???? A: I ran the info through Kelly Blue Book and it shows the retail price for my area to be around $27000. The accident might be why they have it priced so low. I would suggest taking it to a body shop and have them look it over. Personally even though it's a good, no great deal, I could not be satisfied knowing it had been wrecked. But you have to decide for yourself if that is something you can accept. But I would definitely go over it with a fine tooth comb before buying. Check the under carriage is it welded or spliced together. Look at the paint from all different angles, does the color look off in spots?
Q: Is this a good deal for an '05 BMW X5? If you can't see link, here are the details: 2005 BMW X5 4.4i (V8!!) AWD, 27k miles, Black, Panoramic Sunroof, Premium Package, Dynamic Stability Control, On Board Computer, Park Distance Control, Cold Weather Package. Total Price >>>>> $24,995 http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/inview/detail.jsp?ct=u&car_id=254814416&dealer_id=595421&car_year=2005&dealership_view_name=muskego&sort_type=make_modelASC&cardist=6133 A: Yes, go ahead and get it. But don't complain to us when it keeps breaking down..
Q: A BMW in a lower income area? I might be getting a 2005 BMW X5 for my 16th birthday. But I'm afraid that If I drive it to my high school, it will get F**cked. My family is rather wealthy and everyone in this area hates us for it, I'm afraid that some of the other kids will like, key my car. So, my question is, Do you think that people would do it? And/Or what insurance would cover this? Because my dad Hates the city, we used to live in Detroit. A: They might, kids can be really cruel. As for the insurance damage like that would fall under your comprehensive coverage (covers things like fire, theft, vandalism, windshield repairs...). You would have to pay whatever deductible you have on your policy and the insurance will pay the rest.
Q: Why do people prefer the X5 over X3 other than size? the X5 looks so ugly compared to the X3 which looks a bit futuristic at the least and some ppl might say its female of X5. but i would rather drive a car that looks nicer than a car that looks like a cheap old bmw. comparing a 2005 X5 to a 2003 X3 the X5 looks like a 99 model comparing to the X3. A: no idea, as the X3 is pointless. you might as well get a 3 series saloon. the X3 offers no benefits over a saloon car.
Q: BMW fender bender price? okay so my friend got into a fender bender today with a 2005 x5 BMW, but the BMW only got a scratch on the bumper, so basically the only thing that needs to be replaced is the bumper: can only one tell me how much an x5 BMW bumper would cost? A: Repairing any BMW is going to be pricey. Don't be temped to go the cheap route. It is not worth it and the resale value will take a hit. The first thing is to find a shop that repairs BMW's. The other issue is making sure that they only use factory parts in the replacement of the bumper. Lastly, be sure they do the job properly. A shop that uses the correct paint and follows the right steps to ensure a perfect fit and match of the paint. I had my BMW done a few times and I learned that you can't take any short cuts. You are going to pay for it when its time to sell the car. I paid about $2000 for the repair, but it depends on the amount of repairs under the bumper. I hope this helps.
Q: Burning smell from BMW X5? My buddy has a BMW X5. Every time the road conditions are wet (rain, slush, or snow), he gets a burning smell inside and outside of the car. It smells like an electrical component or wires. The car is a 2005. I have observed smoke comming from the front left (driver side) side of the car. If anyone has experienced this or knows anything about it I would really appreciate some help. Thank you. A: Probably just the extra money he paid to buy a German vehicle when he could have gotten a better Japanese/Korean SUV for $8000 less with fewer problems.
Q: Specific Car models in future, will they still be stylish? I've always loved the 2005 Mercedes CL, and the 2005 BMW X5, I can't drive yet, so I'm just gonna ask this question, will these cars still be cool in the future? A: Well, the late 70's 80's and mid nineties are a good example. People back then thought those cars were very stylish and unique and were good quality, but boy were they wrong!
Q: I would like to get a used BMW x3 , is 2004 too far back? I am looking into the BMW x3. The X5 is bit too much. I am looking for Used X3. If anyone has had any expience with this car, can you tell me how far back is too far. Ive seen some 2004 and 2005 models that are really affordable, however it is used., so is that still a good buy? I though about leasing a new oneIhowever i realized youre just putting your money into a car just to rent it. Just needed a few opinions Thanks for any help!! :) A: I had an '04 and now have an '06. Wonderful vehicles. Beware that the '04 has a stiffer ride and seats, it seems like. That's fine if you are a true BMW fan but many people complained about it so they made it softer in '05. I have never had a real problem with anything and the maintenance and basically everything but the tires is covered for the first 4 years/50,000 miles. It's a lot of fun to drive on winding roads. It will not win a drag race against many cars (I got beat by a Dodge truck, and even my old Mercedes with 160,000 miles will beat the X3 on a straight road) but it is a lot of fun to drive. I will buy another one when this lease is up. I highly recommend it

Q: 2004 BMW X5 4.4i ?????????? I hear loud clunks as I load/unload the engine while driving at low speeds under 20mph. seems like it might be either the engine mounts or something on the drive shaft, any ideas what else it might be? A: Like you said, engine mounts, could also be the transmission mounts, (there is 2 of them on top) I have seen Drive shaft couplings become soft and do the same as you mentioned. They get soft because the engine and transmission leak fluid on it and then it becomes soft and slightly flexible.
Q: 2004 BMW X5 breaking? When I push the break pedal an the car comes to stop in 70% of the time right after it stops it does another forward movement but u can feel that the wheels are not moving its just the body or suspension, what can it be? A: It is probably as you stated, the suspension. Worn parts on the suspension can cause your vehicle to "move" as the worn parts travel through the exhausted area. I would check to see if the lower control arm bushings are still good. And of course find a reputable suspension shop to find the culprit.
Q: Serious?? Valve Cover Gaskets are starting to leak (BMW X5 - 2004/35K). How soon should I get it repaired..? Dealer quoted $526.00 How much would that be if I had it done at other mechanics in Naperville, Illinois. Thanx... Luv ya all.. A: a performance shop labor rates would likely be between 25% and 50% less than the dealership (overall service might be better). generally for all BMW's service, repair - both parts and labor - are right at the top of the scale (approx 1.5 and up to 2x that of Amer or Japanese product) and because overall dependability of the BMW is only average - once off of warranty they become very very expensive to maintain, unless you same skills and (special) tools to do some of the work yourself. in the 2005 J D Power dependability study (industry benchmark) which considered the preceding 3 yr period BMW did not make it into the top 10, and since 2005 has gravitated between 7th and 9th, lagging far behind lexus, acura, honda, and toyota - not a good showing for a premium priced car and especilly now considering that its performance is generally (model by model) only on par or below those other cars. happy to receive thumbs down from BMW fans - but facts are facts.
Q: bmw 330ci 2004 or X5 2003 ? vote please? Hello, Im planning to buy a car. I'm really confused between a 330Ci 2004 and X5 2003. What do u think ? vote A: X5s are gross.. The 330ci rocks..
Q: Bmw X5 Price Questions.? How much should i pay for a 2004 BMW X5 with the 3.0 engine? i have seen prices on ebay, and id like to know what some real people have paid for theirs. A: You might not want to listen to the guy who is claiming he is from Ernhard BMW of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Mainly because there isn't a dealership called Ernhard, its called Erhard. There's no 'N' maybe it is just me, but if you work there, you should know how to spell it. Anyway. I will give you both Pre-Owned Certified and Brand New costs. The new 2007 model is significantly different from preceding models, it is larger and has far more technology than previous years. I personally prefer the preceding style, but it is a very good vehicle. For a 2005 with 45,000 miles expect to pay around $36,999, that is pretty well loaded with options. For a 2002 X5 with only 35,300 miles, expect $27,000. Brand new, however is significantly more money, $45,900 base model. As you can see the vehicle tends to depreciate at a faster rate than BMWs sedans, wagons and coupes. This is mainly because they are SUVs, which everyone knows tend to lose value fairly quickly. That does not, however, negate their value as cars. They are sporty, get superior (it is relative, though) gas mileage and have the reputation warranted by BMW. Keep in mind there are benefits to buying new and used, both however, have BMWs extraordinary warranty. The warranty gives you completely cost-free maintenance for 50,000 miles brand new or 100,000 miles Certified Pre-Owned. I hope this helps, good luck.
Q: BMW X5 has gone crazy on me !!!!? I have a 2004 Bmw X5 4.4i Sports Package. Problems first started when I was driving from my sisters' in law house to a gas station and then the car wouldnt start, I got a Trans Fail Safe program message. I jumped the car and it limped on 3 or 4th gear home. The next day the car was fine. I cleaned the MAF sensor, but the problem is back sometimes the tranny jumped or kicked but I got no message then when I was just sitting at my banks drive thru I got the Trans Fail Safe program message again. Now this morning the car wont start. The battery is just fine as I had it tested with Autozone. I jumped it but this time it didnt turn on. and now the needles on my dash are jumping. the alarm also started beeping for no apparent reason. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. A: Whoa! Your car is possesed! I think its a total ECU failiure. It could also be a major vacuum leak. Many BMW's have electronic problems. If you have the warranty still, take it to the dealer. If not, take the battery out for a day or two and see if anything resets. You might need to plug it into a dynometer and try to fix it from there. Autozone can run an OBD II. If all else fails, get a new ECU.
Q: What is the "DSC" button in my BMW X5 car? I have a 2004 BMW X5 3.0i and I believe it is not a 4x4 wheel drive. We just got a jet ski and we are planning on going to tlake tahoe and I thought we needed a 4x4 car, because it has alot of hills while going there. while driving, i found a DSC button and when i pressed it..... a 4x4 light lid up. But I could not tell the difference... meaning that I dont think anything changed. so What does the "DSC" button do and when is it used for?? A: None of the answers provided are correct. And I think your question is wrong too. I think the button you are referring to is called the DTC button, or Dynamic Traction Control. All new BMWs are equipped with Dynamic Stability Control. This system monitors over- and under steer and adapts engine power and individual brakes to keep the car under control and headed in the intended direction. A switch on the dashboard will put the DSC into DTC mode, or Dynamic Traction Control. In this mode, a certain degree of rear wheel slip is allowed, useful in deep snow or when having a little fun. At no time can you completely turn off the traction control on a new BMW.
Q: will 2003/2004 18" bmw 745Li oem rims fit 04-07 bmw x5? I don't know the offset, they are factory wheels. A: No
Q: What kind of gas mileage does your X5 get? 2004 BMW X5, 3.0, I6, Sport Package, Premium Package, Xenon, Rear Climate Package A: About 15-20 but its an X5 4.4 with pretty much all the things you have on your X5 3.0. Like many have said, it all depends on your driving habits.
Q: BMW 745li or BMW x5? HI there I really need to decide WHICH one of MY car NEED to go , I have BMW 745li ( 2003 model ) and a BMW x5 ( 2004 model ) Unfortunately my business become sour and i am having a little DIFFICULTIES now with my FINANCIAL problem so one of my CAR need to go to cover UP some of my BILLS and probably use the rest of the remaining money to get back on my feet again , BUT i cant really DECIDE which car do i need TO sell COZ i really like them BOTH , ANY SUGGESTION ? A: they are both good cars, and both have a great resale value, but the 745 has a higher re-sale value than the x5. THe main thing you should consider, is which of the two cars fits your needs the most.

Q: Where in Miami can I get fuel injectors for a 2003 BMW X5 (diesel)? BMW X5 3.0d Thanks! A: Check realoem.com to find the part numbers, then call your local BMW dealer to see if they can order them for you. I've heard that Canadian BMW dealers sometimes have more luck getting non-US parts, so you might try there, too. It's also likely they're Bosch parts, and might be shared with other cars. A diesel-knowledgeable mechanic might be able to cross-reference to a more widely available generic part.
Q: 2003 BMW X5 cigarette lighter problem? Our family has a 2003 BMW X5, and the cigarette lighter power outlets (both front and back) aren't working. Is this something that we can easily fix or is this something that must be fixed by the dealership? A: Very likely just a fuse (since it's both lighters). Very simple and very simple fix. Do not go to the dealer for this - though if they're nice, they might do it for free. I wouldn't risk it, just go to an auto-parts store and get the right replacement fuse. The fuses are in the glove box behind a flap.
Q: Is 2002-2003 bmw x5 better or 2002-2003 Toyota Landcruiser Prado.? Which is a better 4X4. Remember that the prado is the grande (best version) and the x5 is 4.4L not the 3.0L (Engine power). Please help 10 points to the best answer. Promise!!!! A: As a proud BMW X5 owner, I will tell you that the X is a much better car overall than the Landcruiser. It does also depend on what you are looking for in an SUV. If you want one that feels and drives better than any passenger car, then you need to definitely go with the X5. Drive it and you will understand what I am referring to. If you want a truck of an SUV that you can take offroading and want the heavy sloppy feeling while driving, then the toyota is for you Also, it is true that bmw,s overall are a bit more expensive to repair, but the overall maintenance is the same, and if you are able to get one that is well kept or even with an extd warranty, you will have no worries. You will just look forward to getting into your car and often find an excuse just to drive. Good luck!!!
Q: 2003 bmw x5 problem, please help? i got a few problems that just started a few days ago but got worse today 1. The locks wont open, only lock that opens is driver lock. Even from the inside lock control NONE of the locks will open or close. From the key you can open the driver side only. But it still beeps 2 times, when u unlock 2. Self level suspension. THe error light is coming on, but i had this fixed just 10 months ago! 3. Alarm of the car is going of randomly. I have to leave my car unlocked where ever i go because the alarm goes off a few minutes later. anyone have and suggestions. Im a bit tight on money right now , and cannot really afford to take it to the bmw dealership, and get charged alot. thanks A: Take it to a checker or auto zone they will put it on diagnostics for free. It sounds like you have a major electrical problem good luck.
Q: My 2003 BMW X5 4.4i (pre x drive) it has done 137,000 kilometers (approx. 85 127 miles). Should I be concerne? My 2003 BMW X5 4.4i (pre x drive) it has done 137,000 kilometers (approx. 85 127 miles). Should I be concerned that I have read that I should budget for replacing most of the drive-train including castor bushes, new drive belts, transmission and engine seals. I have also concerns about what I have read about the X5 having a sealed for life automatic transmission and that regardless of whether you have a full BMW service history; the dealer will never change the auto fluid, causing many of these boxes to fail around the 120-150K mark. Should this fluid be changed? How many kilometers can I expect to get out of my engine before I can expect major costs? A: you need to change the timing belt about now but that's just routine, sealed transmission is not a new thing, and if its sealed for life leave well alone, the battery is also sealed for life but that does not bother you, you are over reacting to hype and your x5 will not need any major rebuild ,even then maybe just the odd seal or bush but nothing to worry about, they go for ever,so if its not broken don't try to mend it.
Q: brake lining light tourned on on bmw x5 2003, what is that for? A: 6 out of 10 times when the light comes on its telling you the linings are down to about 1/4 left. Sometimes the sensor went bad or was damaged. A lot of the time when tire guys are doing tire work the bump or generally disturb the little sensors and their wires.
Q: Is a 2003 X5 expensive to fuel? What is the average fueling cost to fill-up a 2003 BMW X5's tank, being that it only accepts premium gas? A: Yep About 15 mpg city 21mpg highway (U.S.) Link for a 2007 model (same motor) It takes 24.6 gall (U.S) http://www.car.com/content/research/searchresults/index.cfm/action/selecttrim/make_vch/BMW/model_vch/X5/virsection/summary It shouldn't be too hard to get something better. (Unless you like paying fuel taxes.)
Q: BMW 2003 X5, any mechanical problems? A: Any vehicle, X5 or otherwise would have mechanical problems if it is a 2003. Go to bimmerforums.com and navigate to X5's. Or use Google to search for X5 lemons. Include in your search class action lawyers and lemons.
Q: What Should I Do To My BMW X5? Hey guys I just purchased a 2003 BMW x5, greyish blue in clour, and I was thinking about raising it...or doing something cool, like black rims. does anyone know any websites or previous experiences that they can share? Thanks a lot A: i think chrome rims would look sick with the color of your car. It would bring out contrast. also get tints for sure! you can never go wrong with tints. if you want to go extra , black out the light, change the front lights to a differnet color. you can also change the bmw logo to a differnt color. you can buy this sticker where you put it on top, so instead of the logo being navy and white you can make it white and black or pink and black or white and green, any color you want, you can buy them off ebay for like 3-5 bucks
Q: bmw x5 will not start/clicking sound? Hi, We just bought this 2003 bmw x5 with 35,000 miles on it 3 days ago. When turning the key all I get is a clicking sound. The dash lights come on so there seems to be power from battery. Thanks in advance. Gavin. A: There might be enough power in batter for dash lights, but evidentaly not enough to turn the engine. Try gettin a jump start, let the car run awhile to see if the battery will charge. If not, have your alternator checked before you buy a new battery. Autozone parts store checks alternators for free!

Q: Whats wrong with my 2002 BMW X5? I have a '02 3.0l X5, with about 160,000 km (90,000 miles) on it. For some reason when I try to engage the alarm, only the doors lock and the lights dim. That audible beep is not heard and the red "clown" nose under the mirror does not flash. It only does this sometimes, as if it has a mind of it's own or something. What can this be? Thanks in advance. A: You should bring your vehicle to a mechanic or shop who knows how to work on BMW's and have the equipment to do so (a GT1/Dis). Specifically, the DWA (alarm) system needs to be diagnosed. Perhaps it just needs re-programming of the DWA or resetting of the car/key memory or a related fault in the general module which is concerned with central locking, but who knows?
Q: where is the battery located on a 2002 BMW X5? A: Look in the trunk area, it's on the top left side of your spare tire (viewed as if you're opening the trunk sliding floor board). Depending on model level in my change 4.4 or 3.0

Why control lights goes on sometimes? Is is cost a lot ot fix? Please help !!!!!! Also my headlight washers don't work ,but fuses are good. Also backwindow washer don't work? How much to fix? I got soem erro codes from system as well : P1632( check engine light goes on becaus eof that i guess,as this code means Throttle valve adaptation condition is not met A: The first thing I would do is inspect the battery and wither have it tested or see when it was replaced last. A weak battery can cause these types of problems. If you are on your original battery, you should replace it immediately. If you are unsure and your battery is a BMW battery, check the top of the negative terminal for the production date. It will be in a weeks/years format. Otherwise, you most likely will need to replace your EML (Drive-by-wire system). If there are any faults in the EML system, it will immediately shut down the entire DSC system and go into failsafe mode to prevent any unplanned movements of the car. It could be as simple as a bad accelerator pedal, or a bad electronic throttle body, or even a wiring problem between any of the control units. As far as the headlight washers and rear window washer, you most likely need to replace the motors. Since these functions are used the least, the motors can sometimes freeze up over time. You should check them with a voltmeter while having an assistant activate the washers. If you are not receiving power, you probably have an electrical problem. This could range from the switch itself, to wiring, to the General Module, to the washer relays under the passenger side dashboard.
Q: BMW x5 2002 vibration inside on P position? I feel vibration in my steering wheel and driver's seat, when I started car and shifted transmission into D and don't drive it yet and hold brake. What could that be? When drive vibration is not so obvious, only when you at one point standing still. A: Check engine and gearbox mounts
Q: bad throttle and wiring harness BMW x5 2002? BMW said i have bad throttle body and wiring harness and has hole in a hose which comes to throttle body and bad thermostat. My car sometimes has low power and error codes come out "Adaptation control failed, throttle body". Also sometimes car shifts to quick and you feel that. Is that all because of that wiring harness and throttle body? A: Yep and your not the only person to have this happen. They all do this sooner or later.. Just another example why BMW is no longer the ultimate driving machine. They lost the right to use that 20 years ago. But hey a sucker is born every min.
Q: BMW x5 3.0i 2002 what tire pressure is required? I have BMW x5 3.0i 2002 with automatic rear suspensia(air self-regulated). My tires are 235/65/R17 all around, non sport package. What is the proper tire pressure to drive comfortably? A: Your car should have a sticker where the driver's door opens with that information on. Failing that, talk to the dealership if the information is not in your owner manual. Then inflate the tires to the correct pressure and check them periodically.
Q: BMW x5 2002 lower ball joints dusty? I went to BMW and they said I have some dust on my lower ball joint in front. Do I really need to change it immediately or it no so urgent? It cost 600$ + tax,any suggestions? How long can I drive with dusty ball joints? Th ethign is I changed the whole front axle at 55k and now car only 71k. Thanks A: I have seen some pretty weird questions and statements from you dude. No self respecting BMW dealer would tell you to replace something simply because it is dusty. Perhaps you are hard of hearing or simply can not communicate with the dealer's representatives because of the bs complaints that you are bringing to them. I think they are referring to existing damage to the rubber boots of the ball joints--they are called dust shields. If they are torn, then the grease would leak out and road dust, and grit can get in thereby damaging the joint. The logical solution is to replace the joint or the part with the joint.
Q: mp3 in BMW x5 2002? My x5 didn't come with cd cnahger? which one should i buy to have mp3 in a caR? i don't have dsp or navigation. but i want to control cd changer and songs throught sterring wheel. A: Although expensive, the best way is to get the newest BMW cd changer. It plays MP3s now and works perfectly with the steering wheel controls. It's a plug and play, all wires are already there in the back. You just need to buy the brackets to mount it. Any other kind, and you need an adapter. The adapter will work with the steering wheel controls, but is slow and prone to failure. Trust me I know. I just pulled out an Alpine CD changer with MP3 because of the adapter.

Q: We are concidering buying a BMW X5 2001, and wandering if anyone has towed with this vehicle, and which hitch? is best and any towing issues, problems? A: i haven't personally but i have a friend who uses his x5 to pull his ///M3 to the track with it
Q: Help! 2001 BMW X5 or 325i? I can't decide between buying a used 2001 X5 or 2001 325i. Both vehicles have around the same mileage but the X5 is about $2,000 more (but with more options). The X5 is white with tan leather, very nice woodgrain trim interior, cd player, heated seats, moonroof, almost all the options one could ask for! The 325i is black with tan leather as well, but does not have a cd player and the radio/dash display is scratched up a bit. It also has a moonroof, and would get significantly better gas mileage. I'm 24 with no children, so having an SUV at this particular moment is not a must, but I know it would come in handy more times than not. Although, the 325i is super cute and VERY fun to drive, seeming more like the "younger crowd's" choice of vehicle. I'm in love with both, so I'm very torn! (if you couldn't tell) The X5 would be practical for space reasons and such, but the 3-series is very cute and fun. Help! A: Those are two completely different cars! The X5 sounds like a better deal because it is an SUV and if it has similar mileage and only 2000 more, I would go for it for the deal. The 325 is a fun car, but slower by todays standards. The gas mileage would be good though, you are right. But I would go for the X5 b/c of the slight price difference. The 325 is more reliable, but an X5 is an X5 haha
Q: Where can I purchase a navigation system for my 2001 BMW X5 (factory or not)? A: For a BMW navigation system, check out bimmernav.com. I'm a past customer, and there stuff works like it was installed at the factory, just like they say, based on my experience. But to retrofit a nav system you're looking at a lot of money. You can get a lot of Garmins and Tom-Toms for the cost of retrofitting factory nav.
Q: BMW x5 2001 needs new break pads? my bmw needs the break pads replaced...how much does it cost to do that? A: Around 350 at shop,do it your self 150
Q: BMW X5 2001 Car Battery? I'm looking for a cheap replacment of my dead battery.Don't wanna go with a dealer's genuine one.Any ideas of brand, dimensions etc?Because i don't know which one will fit. Thanks in advance! A: Anything 12 volt will work. The question is how long will it work and in how low of tempuratures. Just go to any parts store and ask them for a cheap battery with at least the same number of cold cranking amps as the stock battery.
Q: BMW X5 2001 3.0i wheel and tire question? I wanna upgrade my manufacture wheels to 20''(front-9.5,rear-10.5) wheels will it be OK?Coz I've heard that if it's 4wheel drive then something terrible could happen to my car.I also want to put tires:275/40/20 to front and 315/35/20 to rear. Will it work? Thanks in advance! p.s.Please do not suggest me to call to BMW dealership, coz I allready did and those douches don't know anything!!! A: Highly not recommended to do a "stagger" on an AWD vehicle. Will do damage to drive-train. There are several facts why this would do damage, but just know it should not be done should suffice.
Q: Fuse location for radio, bmw x5 2001? Hi does anyone know were I can locate the fuseboard, as the radio no longer works. Cheers A: Open the glove box. The top of the glove box is the fuse box. Swing the two little clips to the side and it will swing down. I believe there is another one in the back, behind a panel on the side.
Q: BMW x5 2001 Low beam headlight ? My right low beam headlight is out(the main light). It is very expensive to replace this light at the dealer. I took it to Car X because they do headlights and the guy said I can order the part myself to avoid the mark up if they order it and they will put it in and only charge labor. My question is, what light to order? My book says an H7 55 watt. How do I tell if it is a xenon light or a regular light-my manual doesn't tell me how I know? Is there an issue with Car X doing it? Please help me. A: There are two different bulbs your vehicle may have. One is the H7 which is inexpensive ($8-$14) or a D2S which is a HID bulb. The D2S is going to run you between $80-$140 depending where you get it from. The best way to tell what you need is to try to see the part number on the old bulb. The number will be marked right on it. Just because the owners manual says H7 you can't always go by that. Owners manuals are a generalized manual for all the 2001 X5s. Parts may differ.
Q: Help!! I Dont get any sound out of my radio (BMW X5 2001)? I unpluged the AMP (as i was suggested) worked for a little while then went back to no sound. A: Hey I would just like to comment on your radio situation. I also own a BMW and have had an occasional stereo problem.. You should take your car into an authorized dealership or authorized car stereo shop and have them check the fuse that is on the back of the stereo head unit if your's has one... On BMW's there are several fuses that go to the sound system 2 that are accesible by the consumer and the other by a dealer or authorized stereo repair facilty of one thta installs aftermarket unit's.... I hope that this sheds some light on the subject... And btw to the guy that made the comment of you having disconnected the battery before you disconnected the amp that has no bearing on why your stereo wouldnt work unless you have disconnected the stereo itself...
Q: BMW X5 3.0 2001 question? I wanna upgrade my manufacture wheels to 20''(front-9.5,rear-10.5) wheels will it be OK?Coz I've heard that if it's 4wheel drive then something terrible could happen to my car.I also want to put tires:275/40/20 to front and 315/35/20 to rear. Will it work? Thanks in advance! p.s.Please do not suggest me to call to BMW dealership, coz I allready did and those douches don't know anything!!! A: According to tirerack.com, you can install 20" wheel/tire size with different widths, but your rear tire size is off... it should be 295/40-20 But remember that the disadvantage of having different widths is that you wouldn't be able to rotate the tires. The DSC/ABS system works on the basis of comparing wheel speeds. That's how it knows if one wheel is slipping or if you are about to go into a tailspin. If you use front and back tires of different rotational diameter (so they rotate at different rpms for the same road speed), the system may give you a warning light and disables itself thinking it's a sensor malfunction. It may also have detrimental effects on your transfer case. I would recommend that you make the front and rear widths the same. PS - you really didn't need to post this question 4 times

NEW BMW X5 M

BMW confirmed the existence of its X5 M project late last year, and now the SUV’s official debut has come. Set to be introduced to the press this week at the New York Auto Show, this high-performance X5 will rival Mercedes-Benz’s ML63 AMG.BMW has put the high-performance ‘ute through extreme durability testing in the southwestern part of the United States, taking advantage of the hot temperatures, miles of desert roadways and mountains with steep grades.Slightly more conventional than its X6 M sibling, the M offers the same utility as the regular X5, with the addition of a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 delivering 555 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and peak torque is 501 pound-feet, available between 1,500 and 5,650 rpm. The crossover can sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, according to the automaker. The X6 M and X5 M are the first xDrive all-wheel-drive vehicles from BMW to sport the “M” badge. Coupled with special “M” air suspension featuring Adaptive Drive and the newly developed Servotronic power steering, the performance ‘ute promises very competent handling. Other high-tech features include launch control for maximum acceleration and an “M” six-speed automatic optimized for performance. Drivers can manually select gears using either paddles or an an electronic gear selector lever.Electronically controlled, variable power distribution to the front and rear axle prevents even the slightest tendency to over- or understeer right from the start, before DSC Dynamic Stability Control is even required to cut in.BMW is referring to the new 4.4-liter motor as its “M TwinPower Turbo” unit. The name reflects the fact that the motor features Twin Scroll Twin Turbo Technology and a common exhaust manifold encompassing both rows of cylinders.Although traction control is standard, the M Dynamic Mode (MDM) greatly reduces the aggressiveness of the system. The MDM setting allows the driver to enter a controlled drift and push the vehicle’s handling to the limit. There’s also a DSC-Off Mode for drivers seeking a more purist experience.

IntroductionThe BMW X5 was introduced in 2000 as the automaker’s first “Sport Activity Vehicle” (SAV). In contrast to the traditional sport utility vehicle (SUV) that delivered utility and off-road prowess, BMW’s X5 was engineered for premium handling, performance, efficiency, practicality and versatility. The early X5 carried up to 5 passengers in sophisticated luxury and it offered standard full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) for control during inclement weather and to deliver car-like handling. In 2002, BMW released its high-performance X5 4.6is model. With a 4.6-liter V-8 engine rated at 340 horsepower (later bumped to 4.8 liters), 20-inch wheels, performance components and tuning, it was built to compete directly against the high-performance Mercedes-Benz ML55. The enthusiast-targeted 4.8is model was dropped in 2007 when the completely redesigned second-generation X5 debuted. The all-new BMW X5 was slightly larger than its predecessor and it addressed the limited cabin space of the previous model as it offered optional seating for up to 7 passengers. BMW offered the redesigned X5 with a choice of two engines: a 3.0-liter inline-6 rated at 260 horsepower or an optional 4.8-liter V-8 rated at 350 horsepower. Both models were available with a “Sport Package” which included larger wheels and tires and mildly-tuned sport suspension, but it was hardly track-ready.New for 2010, BMW has announced its highest-performing X5 model ever: the purpose-built X5 M. Reviving the enthusiast-oriented passion of the defunct 4.8is model, the all-new X5 M is fitted with a powerful engine, oversize wheels, track suspension, body kit, and other cosmetic upgrades. With every 2010 X5 M, BMW provides a 4-year/50,000-mile new-vehicle limited warranty and a 4-year/unlimited mileage membership in the BMW Assist Safety Plan. The BMW Maintenance Program includes all factory-recommended maintenance items for the first 4-year/50,000-mile period of ownership.
